  1. Let’s start a little dialog about the Caribbean Ports of Call. I’ll share a little bit of information about the island and you tell us if you were there and what you liked most and what to watch for.

I’ll start with Antigua since I am not very creative and it starts with ‘A’.

Some say Antigua has so many beaches that you could visit a different one every day for a year. Most have snow-white sand. The largest of the British Leeward Islands, Antigua was the headquarters from which Lord Horatio Nelson made his forays against the French and pirates in the late 18th century. You may wish to explore English Harbor and its carefully restored Nelson’s Dockyard, as well as tour old forts, historic churches, and tiny villages. Appealing aspects of the island’s interior include a small tropical rain forest ideal for hiking, ancient Native American archeological digs, and restored sugar mills. Due to time constraints, it’s best to make trips this far from port with an experienced tour operator. But you can easily take a taxi to any number of fine beaches on your own and escape the hordes descending from the ship.
